Reconciliation Week 2023

commUnity+ continues to proudly acknowledge the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Bunurong people as traditional custodians of the land on which we work and provide services. We pay our respects to Elders past and present. commUnity+ acknowledges this land was never ceded; that it always was and always will be Aboriginal land.

As we continue to be a voice for generations, it is important that we are transparent and vocal in acknowledging the traditional custodians of the land on which we work and provide services on. During Reconciliation Week, we strived to not only be a voice for generations, but to also educate our staff, volunteers, students and community members about Australia’s ongoing journey towards reconciliation.

  • Photo 5 – 8: Our Neighbourhood House held a Reconciliation Week event at our community hub starting with an introduction to Aboriginal art and colouring using mixed media. Ending the session with a yarning circle and informational video for our members to gain further understanding about Australia’s reconciliation week.
