Victorian Law Reform Commission visits the Centre to discuss its important work

Brimbank Melton Community Legal Centre (BMCLC), a program of Comm Unity Plus Services Ltd, received a visit from Anna Beesley of the Victorian Law Reform Commission (VLRC) in August this year.

We are extremely grateful to Anna for taking the time to present to our lawyers and volunteer law students on the interesting, varied and important law reform work undertaken by the VLRC.

Anna is the Team leader for the recent Review of the Victims of Crime Assistance Act 1996. Her presentation was insightful and prompted much discussion and questions, especially in relation to the following:

  • The law reform process;
  • The VLRC’s Terms of reference;
  • The VLRC’s current inquiries;
  • Tips on how to make a submission; and
  • How to get involved with the VLRC.

A big thank you to Anna!
