Board of Directors – Expressions of Interest 2020

Comm Unity Plus Services Ltd is seeking motivated and capable people who are community-minded to join our Board. Expressions of Interest are currently being sought for appointment to the Comm Unity Plus Board of Directors for terms of up to three years.

Our Governance Requirements

commUnity+ has become a company limited by guarantee to strengthen governance further and prepare for expansion since 2015. Board members need to meet all statutory obligations of company directors.

The Board delegates all management responsibilities to the Chief Executive Officer, who has broad management authority, which is limited and guided by the organisation’s policies, the Board and Committees of the Board.

We are seeking voluntary Board members who have expertise and experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Registered Training Organisation experience
  • Business Development, strategic marketing and business procurement experience
  • Organisational Development – focus on people and culture, risks and operations
  • Community Advocates, Social Policy and research staff who work in the western region or at local universities

You will also possess and display:

  • Curiosity - Directors must have an inquisitive nature, and the ability to process an inquisitive nature, and the ability to process an enormous amount of information
  • Emotional Intelligence (EQ) - Directors act as part of a collective board. It is essential to be attuned to your fellow directors, able to listen to hear and to seek to understand what motivates yourself and others.
  • Formal skills - Directors should be lifelong learners who are prepared to continue to build and hone these skills as the external environment changes

Conflict of Interest: The Board would like to disclose that as an RTO, we operate on a business procurement model. Candidates who may have a conflict or potential conflict of interest may need to discuss their application with the Chairperson before you apply. Also, prospective Board members will need to undergo a Criminal Records Check and have a current Working with Children Check and maintain ongoing validity.
